Güncelleme sonrası 1.1.2 sürümüne ulaşan yazılım, önemli yenilikleri de beraberinde getiriyor. Yeni sürümün getirdiği en önemli yenilik hiç şüphesiz, Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard işletim sisteminin bir özelliği olan Time Machine (Zaman Makinesi) desteği getirilmiş olması. Her ne kadar yedekleme daima iyi bir fikir olarak gözükse de, bazen istenmeyen durumların oluşmasına yol açabilir. Özellikle birden fazla sanal makine kullanıyorsanız, o zaman yedekleme için kullandığınız sürücü çok kısa bir süre içerisinde dolacaktır, zira Time Machine, görece büyük boyutlu olan sanal makine dosyalarını siz işletim sistemini her çalıştırdığınızda yedeklemeye çalışacaktır. VMWare ekibi, yazılımın yeni sürümüne, hangi sanal makinelerin Time Machine tarafından yedeklenip yedeklenmeyeceğini belirleyebileceğiniz bir özelliği entegre etmiş durumda. Bununla birlikte yazılımın MacBook Air desteği iyileştirilmiş. Kablosuz köprülü ağ bağlantısı kurulumu sırasında görülen sorunlar, ses seçimi açığı, Apple Alüminyum Klavye için daha iyi destek, komut haritalarının değiştirilebilmesi, USB aygıtları için daha iyi başarım ve 1.1.1 sürümünde görülen klavye girdisi sorunu da listede yerini alıyor.
