İşlemcisi dört çekirdekli ARM Cortex-A9 olan NGP, 5 inçlik 960x544 çözünürlükte ekrana sahip. Cihazın diğer özellikleri şunlar: •İki analog çubuk, •3G, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bleutooth 2.1+EDR ve GPS, •Hareket algılayıcı, •Çoklu dokunma desteğine sahip touchpad, •Ön ve arka olmak üzere iki kamera Tanıtımda Metal Gear Solid 4'ün PSP'de 20 fps ile çalışması gösterilerek NGP'nin performansı da vurgulandı. Ayrıca Uncharted ile dokunmatik ekran, Hot Shots Golf oyunu ile de hareket algılayıcı (PlayStation Move gibi) özelliğinin tanıtımı yapıldı.
