Popüler sosyal medya mecralarından Twitter’ın açıkladığı 2014 ikinci dönem şeffaflık raporuna göre Türkiye, bin 820 paylaşıma ve 62 kişinin hesabına erişimi engelleterek listede açık ara birinci oldu. 2014 yılında erişime engellenen 2 bin 233 tweet’in 2 bin 3 tanesi, Türkiye'nin talebiyle meydana geldi. Rakiplerine oranla kullanıcılarının en aktif şekilde paylaşımlarda bulunduğu Twitter, 2014 yılı ikinci dönem şeffaflık raporunu açıkladı. Önceki dönemde olduğu gibi bu dönem de Türkiye, tweet erişimine en çok engel talebinde bulunan ülke olarak kayıtlara geçti. Twitter’ın paylaştığı rakamlara göre Türkiye, 376 içerik kaldırma talebinin 328’ine sahip olarak listede açık ara birinci oldu. Talepler sonucunda bin 820 paylaşıma ve 62 kişinin hesabına erişim engellendi. Türkiye’yi 27 içerik kaldırma talebiyle Brezilya ve 6 taleple ABD takip etti. ABD’de hiçbir paylaşıma ve hesaba erişim engellenmedi ancak Brezilya’da 101 paylaşıma ve 5 kişinin hesabına erişim engellendi. 4 içerik kaldırma talebinde bulunan Japonya’da ise 19 paylaşıma erişim engellendi. Böylece 2014 yılında erişime engellenen 2 bin 233 tweetin 2 bin 3 tanesi Türkiye’nin talebiyle gerçekleşti.
